Eskalon station is open for business

I decided to combine the station and shed buildings to make one complex for Eskalon station. People and a little paint here and there have been added, the station can be considered open for business!

Time for some people!

There is one thing that can really bring a model railway alive and that is little people to populate your little world! The people arn't alive of course but somehow they bring a vibrancy to your layout. I've lacked HO scale people, i have a box of OO scale people but they just look too large on Eskalon. The people i have got are a budget set (very cheap actually) and a bit crude but a perfect way to build the population.

Eskalon has a station! The kit has come together well, though i've built it slightly differently to how Piko intended. I will paint it a bit later on but for now there is somewhere for the passengers to go.

So Project Eskalon has a goods shed, now it needs a station and construction began today. Like the goods shed it is a Piko kit. It'll look good on the layout when completed.

The new goods shed has been completed though i may do a bit of painting to enhance it a bit (or try to anyway). Next up will be the station.

Eskalon has been a bit quiet lately, Christmas and then a new job means i haven't had a great amount of time free though i have done some running (more to stop the engines from seizing up than anything). Now however i have started a new Piko kit which is a goods shed. I'll site it on one of my sidings when finished.

Need some buildings!

Eskalon is coming along well, the layout has come a long way in a few months but one thing is distinctly lacking... buildings! I built a PIKO model of a doctor's surgery earlier in the year and that remains the only building on the layout but its time i started getting some railway buildings. I haven't decided on a station yet but have bought another PIKO kit, the Castle Rocks good shed.

Where i put it i'm not sure yet but it will obviously be put alongside one of the sidings. The Eskalon layout isn't very big so i do not have that much space for buildings. I think one or two more houses and the station and that will be it.
